"Marijuana, for instance, may have dangerous long-term effects, including cancers of the head and neck. Amphetamines and cocaine are highly addictive and cause rapid physical deterioration. Barbiturates depress the central nervous system"

Scientific proof please, not some inane rambling by a preacher-man.

I'm not condoning the use of drugs, but there is a common misconception that marijuana alone causes cancer. It doesn't. In fact, it's full of medicinal purposes. The reason it's illegal is coz it causes hallucination and people might do crazy things while under the influence. Many states are thinking of legalizing it and there's an ongoing war to legalize marijuana by its users against governments. There have been researches which prove that it doesn't contribute to cancer.

The probable reason why people say it DOES contribute to cancer is coz usually marijuana is taken with tobacco. Only hardcore drug users take pure marijuana without a mixture of tobacco. Doesn't matter if you smoke it or you take a bong hit, there's always tobacco mixed with it and as we all know, tobacco goes hand in hand with cancer.
